New Premium Color Scanner MF S 655
The S 655 Premium Color Scanner is the flagship of Microform's newly developed series of high-performance scanners for the highest standards of quality and performance. Cutting-edge camera design and the very latest imaging technology make the S 655 a powerful scanning station for economical converting of mixed documents of all types to full color, greyscale and bitonal images of outstanding quality. A scanning speed of up to 160 ppm A4 landscape at 200 dpi in color makes the S 655 the absolute front-runner with regard to production rate and productivity.
The mechanical design of the S 655 is based on the proven S 61 Document Scanner. The unique paper transport system without any belts masters all paper grades with minimal risks of paper jams or damage to valuable originals. New long-life lamps illuminate the scanning zone with light whose brightness is similar to daylight to provide optimum scanning quality while at the same time reducing costs for consumables. The S 655 is manufactured using carefully selected materials and to demanding quality standards, and is suitable for converting extremely large quantities of > 50,000 documents or more per day under tough, 7/24 production conditions. Its stability, endurance, and the low level of service and maintenance expenditure guarantee significant savings in running costs compared with comparable rival products.
The heart of the S 655 consists of two all-new camera units that produce simply outstanding scan results. These dustfree, encapsulated components contain new Trilinear CCD cameras, combined with highquality lenses from Schneider Kreuznach and antireflection-coated optical mirrors.
Versatile and powerful imaging functions process the raw images to create excellent results. Deskew, cropping, digital color filtering and gamma correction are basic functions that are simply part and parcel of the S 655. Multistream scanning simultaneously delivers color, greyscale, and bitonal images from each scan. MDIT -Multi Dimensional Intelligent Thresholding turns grayscale images into excellent bitonal ones. RSOD - ReScan on Demand supports the setting-up of scanning profiles and subsequent quality optimization. With this ideal combination of cutting-edge scanner technology and versatile imaging functions, the S 655 always produces results in Best Image quality.
