The FS-Series from Wicks and Wilson is a range of high volume production scanners for digitising microfiche. The versatile and flexible scanners can be easily configured to automatically capture all formats of microfiche.
Key Features:
• True production fiche scanner, featuring a unique auto-feed closed cartridge
system to hold the fiche securely during scan; prevents any possibility of
fiche either sticking together or being misplaced during the batch scanning
process. The accuracy and reliability of the feed system removes the need
for a pre-scan of every fiche during batch scanning; increasing productivity
and throughput.
• Interactive graphical wizards provide a quick and easy method of configuring
detection and sizing parameters prior to batch scanning. Once saved in a Job
Setup, all parameters are easily retrieved at a later date.
• Numerous file naming options available; single or multipage, cell indexing
or manual naming. Fiche indexing permits operator-entered fields to be used
with double key entry, guarantees indexing accuracy.
• Smartscan, the Wicks and Wilson designed 12-bit image processing system
for microfilm, provides real-time control of on-board advanced imaging tools
for both bitonal and 256-level greyscale imaging.
• Dual save increases productivity for poor quality film by simultaneously
capturing a high-quality greyscale duplicate of the bitonal data.
• Continuous data output produces contiguous files, with or without gaps,
enabling uninterrupted data to be created for offline processing.
• Powerful batch-check mode allows full image QA without slowing the scanner
or impacting throughput.
• Comprehensive file logging capability produces customisable report of batch
process.
